For the purpose of this Annex, the vehicle designations EX/II, EX/III, AT, FL, OX and MEMU are as defined in Chapter 9.1 of the ADR. Für die Zwecke dieses Anhangs werden die Fahrzeugbezeichnungen EX/II, EX/III, AT, FL, OX und MEMU in Kapitel 9.1 des ADR-Übereinkommens verwendet.

In the case of MEMU vehicles, the identifying symbol may be ‘EX/III’ Bei MEMU-Fahrzeugen darf das Zeichen „EX/III“ verwendet werden.
Vehicles approved as being in compliance with the requirements applicable to EX/III under this Regulation, as amended by the 04 series of amendments, shall be deemed to comply with the requirements applicable to MEMU vehicles. Bei Fahrzeugen, die gemäß dieser Regelung in der Fassung ihrer Änderungsserie 04 den Anforderungen an EX/III genügen und entsprechend zugelassen sind, gelten auch die Anforderungen an MEMU-Fahrzeuge als eingehalten.
Vehicles approved as being in compliance with the requirements applicable to EX/III vehicles under this Annex shall be deemed to comply with the requirements applicable to MEMU vehicles. The exhaust system of EX/II, EX/III and MEMU vehicles shall be so constructed and situated that any excess heat shall not constitute a hazard to the load by raising the temperature on the inner surface of the load compartment above 80 °C [6].
