In Cottrell’s method (4) the thermometer is placed in the vapour above the surface of the liquid and the boiling liquid is made to pump itself continuously over the bulb of the thermometer. Beim Cottrell-Verfahren (4) wird das Thermometer über der Flüssigkeit in den Dampf gebracht und die siedende Flüssigkeit kontinuierlich über die Thermometerkugel gepumpt.
