Belgium received an application under Article 6(2) of Directive 91/414/EEC on 1 August 1997 from Novartis NV (now Syngenta) for the inclusion of the active substance s-metolachlor in Annex I to Directive 91/414/EEC. In accordance with Article 6(2) of Directive 91/414/EEC Spain received on 17 March 1999 an application from Novartis Crop Protection AG (now Syngenta) for the inclusion of the active substance thiamethoxam in Annex I to Directive 91/414/EEC. Gemäß Artikel 6 Absatz 2 der Richtlinie 91/414/EWG hat Spanien am 17. März 1999 von Novartis Crop Protection AG (jetzt Syngenta) einen Antrag auf Aufnahme des Wirkstoffs Thiamethoxam in Anhang I der Richtlinie 91/414/EWG erhalten.
On 11 February 1999, Novartis (in the meantime: Syngenta), submitted a request to the competent authorities of the Netherlands for placing sweet maize from genetically modified maize line Bt11 on the market as a novel food or as a novel food ingredient. Am 11. Februar 1999 stellte Novartis (mittlerweile Syngenta) bei den zuständigen Behörden der Niederlande einen Antrag auf Genehmigung des Inverkehrbringens von Süßmais aus der genetisch veränderten Sorte Bt11 als neuartiges Lebensmittel oder als neuartige Lebensmittelzutat.
On 7 September 2000 Novartis (now Forbes Medi-Tech Inc.) made a request to the competent authorities of Belgium to place milk based beverages with added phytosterols on the market as a novel food or a novel food ingredient. Am 7. September 2000 hat die Firma Novartis (jetzt Forbes Medi-Tech Inc.) bei den zuständigen belgischen Behörden einen Antrag auf Inverkehrbringen von Getränken auf Milchbasis mit Phytosterinzusatz als neuartige Lebensmittel oder neuartige Lebensmittelzutaten gestellt.
